About us

MCR is a spin-off company of the University of Leuven, specialised in process facilitation, coaching, consulting and training with regards to (1) Strategy implementation and change management, (2) Learning and development and (3) Leadership and people management skills.

The formation of MCR resulted from many years of research and fieldwork in the domain of adult learning, communication and the human side of change, driven by Peter Rosseel and his team at the University of Leuven (3L). Motivated by excellent results and positive feedback from clients and partners, it was decided in 1999 that we would develop a spin-off organisation that would enable us to serve our clients even better.

The strength of our facilitators, coaches and trainers, lies in the fact that they possess and combine two types of expertise. On the one hand, they have area specific knowledge on topics such as strategy implementation, managing change and leadership, and on the other, they have the necessary capabilities and experience to assume the role of facilitators, coaches and trainers. Through this combination, our team is able to create powerful learning environments for our clients, which leads to effective and sustainable learning and concrete results for organisations.

As your partner in process facilitation, coaching and training, you can expect the following from MCR:

  • Scientific research as a basis: MCR has an extensive expertise with regards to interdisciplinary research in organisational and instructional psychology, management, communication science, linguistics and sociology. A major resource for developing our methodology has been the work of Professor Em. Erik De Corte in the area of instructional psychology and design. His work has become an influential aspect of several international collaborations and projects with universities and governments across Europe, Africa and Asia.
  • Practical methodology: For each of our assignments we start from the viewpoint of the client and together we shape and design a process that will lead to sustainable change in behaviour, employee engagement and improved business results. You can find out more about MCR’s methodology by visiting ‘Our Approach’ page.
  • A holistic approach: As described in the story of the blind man and the elephant, it is sometimes hard to see things as a whole, when you look at reality from a certain perspective or point of view. In the same light, we find that it is a challenge for managers, functional specialists and project leaders to manage change in an integrated way. Although it is useful from time to time to study closely ‘certain aspects of the elephant’, focus needs to be on the whole animal and it is important that it is an elephant we see when the different parts are put back together. This is why, when it comes to managing the human side of change, we use a systematic and methodological way of working that puts demands on the consistency and cohesion of the intervention. You can find out more about MCR’s methodology by visiting ‘Our Approach’ page.
  • Partnerships within and outside the university: Over the past decade, MCR has created partnerships with organisations both inside and outside the university. One of our most noteworthy collaborations has been with the Institute of Public Management at the University of Leuven for a number of long-term training programs for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Pensions office and the Training Institute of the federal Government. We have also contributed to training and coaching programs for school principals organised by the University of Brussels (HUBRUSSEL). A third long standing partnership was set up with the University of Freestate in South Africa. In a project by the Flemish Interuniversity Council (VLIR), that addresses issues on the fight against HIV/AIDS, MCR is responsible for the work stream dealing with ‘Leadership and Education’. Finally, It is worth noting our collaboration with Eurogentest, in which we train managers and their employers in genetic testing labs on change management.
